I'm new—where should I start?

How can I find a Catholic in Recovery meeting?

Visit https://catholicinrecovery.com/find-a-meeting/ to search for in-person or virtual meetings by type, time, or location. We offer general recovery, family & friends, specific addiction groups, and more.

Is there a cost to attend Catholic in Recovery meetings?

No. All CIR meetings are free to attend.

Do I have to be a CIR+ member to attend CIR meetings?

No. You DO NOT need to be a CIR+ member to attend meetings. CIR meetings are—and will always be—free and open to all. We encourage you to be part of the CIR community by attending meetings regularly.

How do I become a member of Catholic in Recovery?

There is no formal membership process. If you attend meetings, identify with the spiritual solution we offer, and are seeking recovery through the grace of God and the sacraments, you are already part of our fellowship.

Do I need to be Catholic to attend Catholic in Recovery meetings?

No. While our approach is rooted in Catholic spirituality, all are welcome—regardless of faith tradition—who seek recovery through the Twelve Steps and spiritual transformation.

How do I get a sponsor?

Sponsorship is an important part of recovery. We encourage you to regularly attend meetings, listen for someone who has what you want spiritually and in recovery, and then approach them after the meeting or reach out during fellowship time. I'm having trouble logging into a meeting. What should I do?

Virtual CIR are held via Zoom and the link to join meetings is on the https://catholicinrecovery.com/find-a-meeting/. You can also view the Meeting ID and enter it to join a meeting here: https://app.zoom.us/wc/join

I'm not receiving emails or would like to update the emails I am receiving from CIR.

Please check your spam or promotions folder and add info@catholicinrecovery.com to your contacts. It's also possible you unsubscribed from receiving communications from CIR. If you're not sure, you can resubscribe by entering your email here: https://catholicinrecovery.com/embedded-mc-form/


You can also update the types of emails you receive from CIR by scrolling to the bottom of any CIR email and clicking on the link related to updating your preferences. You will be prompted to follow directions for selecting what types of emails you would like to receive from CIR.

Who do I contact with billing or donation-related questions?

I want to unsubscribe from emails—how do I do that?

At the bottom of any email from CIR, you'll find an unsubscribe link. You can also update the types of emails you receive from CIR by scrolling to the bottom of any CIR email and clicking on the link related to updating your preferences. You will be prompted to follow directions for selecting what types of emails you would like to receive from CIR.
