Recovery Journeys
As a CIR+ member, you’ll gain access to Recovery Journeys, which are structured digital pathways designed to help you find freedom from addiction, compulsions, and unhealthy attachments. Each journey integrates the wisdom of the Twelve Steps with the hope and healing of the Catholic faith, offering guidance and encouragement to help you grow in lasting recovery. As a member of CIR+, you’ll:
- Engage video or audio teachings, reflection prompts, and practical action steps that help you live your recovery, one day at a time
- Deepen your spiritual life through Scripture, prayer, and Catholic wisdom integrated with 12-step principles
- Connect with fellow Catholics in recovery through dedicated discussion boards for encouragement and accountability
Expert-Facilitated Webinars & Series
As a CIR+ member, you’ll have access to live CIR webinars hosted by experienced CIR fellows with a variety of addiction backgrounds (alcoholism, drugs, lust-related addictions, restricted eating, loved ones of an addict, etc.). You’ll also have access to a library of previously recorded webinars on topics from finding a sponsor to making the most of meetings to overcoming resentment.
You’ll also be able to participate in the Living the Steps series, our 22-week virtual series of working through the Twelve Steps using The Catholic in Recovery Workbook. As a participant, you’ll:
- Engage the Twelve Steps through a Catholic lens as detailed in The Catholic in Recovery Workbook
- Meet other CIR members to forge new relationships and potentially find a sponsor
- Be part of small break-out groups according to your gender and recovery type (food, alcohol/drugs, lust, and family recovery)
Faith-based Recovery Resources
As a CIR+ member, you’ll benefit from the CIR digital workbook companion, a robust video series designed to help you work through the Twelve Steps from a Catholic perspective. You’ll also benefit from resources covering a host of recovery-related issues, such as integrating the Twelve Steps with the sacraments, finding a sponsor, relying on saintly advocates for recovery, and more.
You can also grow closer to Christ on your recovery and spiritual journey by reflecting on the daily Mass readings through a Catholic and recovery perspective. Reflections are sent directly to your inbox every day of the year so you can:
- Meditate on Scripture with the aid of recovery-related reflections
- Encounter personalized reflections from CIR members who share their own experiences of recovery
- Engage with thoughtful and action-oriented questions for individual meditation or group discussion
