ABOUT
Prince of Peace Abbey is located in North San Diego County, CA about two miles east of the Pacific Ocean. It is a Benedictine Monastery. The property was discovered by monks from St. Meinrad Archabbey in Indiana and construction began in 1958. Almost from the beginning the monks offered retreats for people interested in developing their spiritual life in a place of seclusion. The present retreat facility has room for 44 guests who wish to stay for a night or longer to join the monks in prayer or in silence. The monastery’s church is open to guests and the public for silent prayer or for participation in the Mass and prayer services of the monks throughout the day.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The guesthouse has 18 single rooms and 13 double rooms with a maximum occupancy of 44 people. All rooms have private baths. The price of a single room is $425 and a double room is $395 per person.
MEALS
Meals will be served cafeteria style. Foods will be simple and nutritious which should serve for any food plan. If you have specific food allergies, please note this on the registration form. Meals include dinner on Friday, breakfast/lunch/dinner on Saturday, and breakfast/lunch on Sunday.
