Hi, Martin and Anthony! I’ll celebrate 21 years sober of cocaine in Feb. Alcohol can be a bi t of a burden sometimes but I think I would qualify as a “heavy drinker” described in AA literature. I drink a lot but when things are important or I’m needed, I stop.
I find myself rather at odds with the church. I was really a fan of Benedict and I don’t care for Francis’ policy. I feel that he’s trying to popularize the church instead of being the stern father that we need. I love him a lot but have had to my own little home church devoted to a vision I had of Mary (which was confirmed by the hospital Chaplin).
Anyway, for the record, it’s okay out there. Not horrible but not that bad. I have also being deeply violated by sober AA members which has kept me away from the rooms. I don’t honestly think they have a morality nor a conscience as a group.
But stay with what works! I pray to Mary all day and that keeps me on key. If meetings and mass do it for you, let it be!
Your friend in Christ,
