The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament will be hosting a Catholic in Recovery (CIR) Retreat June 2 to 4, 2023. This three-day retreat will offer hope and healing for individuals in recovery from a variety of addictions, compulsions, and unhealthy attachments, those who are seeking to find freedom from the grip of addiction, and family members impacted by their loved one’s addiction. Catholic in Recovery is a community of men and women who overlap 12-step recovery with the sacramental life of the Catholic Church.

When in the grips of addiction, it can be difficult to seek God’s help. But the power of God is more than a concept–it’s a real, personal force of love and grace that can free us from the shackles of darkness and give us new life! Participants will be encouraged to encounter and grow in the Lord through various talks, reflections, prayer, meetings, and opportunities for fellowship grounded in a Catholic sacramental approach to the Twelve Steps of addiction recovery. The Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist will be available during the weekend.

MEALS

Meals will be served cafeteria style. Food will be simple and nutritious which should serve for any food plan. If you have specific food allergies, please note this on the registration form at the bottom of this page.

HOW TO ARRIVE

Whether traveling alone or with loved ones, stop by and rest for awhile in the peaceful quiet of the grounds and in the magnificence of the Church. Visitors are welcome to join the regularly scheduled activities or explore the grounds on their own. Shrine Activities.
